To wrap up the Salon projects two Last London Salons will take place in and in association with Brompton Design District focussing on its theme: Other Stories, alternative perspectives in design.Speakers are invited who explore alternative routes for design and designers that specifically look into this and actively design from different perspectives.
Social entrepreneurs from Newfoundland, Bosnia and The Netherlands share their experiences in using the design process to bring about economic and social change.

Zita Cobb - Fogo Island Inn
Zita Cobb grew up on Fogo Island and went on to a career as a senior finance professional in the fiber optics industry. In 2001, she left to pursue her personal goals and to dedicate her energies to philanthropic work.
She founded Shorefast Foundation, moved home to Fogo Island (while maintaining a residence in Ottawa) and is now actively involved in projects to contribute to a resilient and vibrant future for Fogo Island and Change Islands. www.shorefast.org / www.fogoislandinn.ca
Orhan Niksic - Zanat
Orhan Niksic has an economic background - studied at Stanford and worked as economist at the World bank - and is co founder of Zanat.
Zanat is a new designer furniture brand, but it is founded upon a century-old family generation of heirloom-quality furniture making, known for its hand-carving techniques currently in the process of being enlisted to the UNESCO World Intangible Heritage List. Currently Zanat works with some of the leading designers. www.zanat.org
Petra Janssen - Social Label
Petra Janssen of Studio Boot has been teaching at the Man & Communication department of Design Academy Eindhoven. With Simone Kramer she founded Social Label.
Design creates socio economic opportunities for disadvantaged persons in the ‘working world’. Social label is a new ‘work concept’ for people with a distance to the labour market. Social label involves designers, companies (social firms), healthcare and governmental organisations for new possibilities. www.sociallabel.nl
